DAY 1 .:: Procrastination ::.

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14 King James Version

Anāv ṛ tti ḥ śabdāt - "freedom from surface distortion using the sound."

The Sound is the origin of all objects of material possession. By the Sound one can alsodissolve this material existence." - Vedanta-sutra

  • External Auditory Command is a great motivator.
  • When you find yourself being lazy and procrastinating give yourself a LOUD VOCAL COMMAND. For example, if you find yourself eating or drinking more than essential, say out loud "STOP IT" and get away physically. If you find yourself snoozing your alarm, shout out "GET UP" and follow the command. Try it. Unless we deliberately force the brain to ignore instructions, our human brain is not designed to bypass auditory commands.
  •  If you are deaf or hard of hearing, then visualise your role model commanding you to perform the action. See or imagine your role model, master, or guide giving crisp instruction to act.

Yes, sound is where the answer is. Since paleolithic times, since evolution from primitive animal forms, the sound or the command is something which is not questioned. If someone shouts “Tiger! Run!” We run. Period. No questions asked. Please don't try this; but if somebody is sitting on a chair and you boldly command, "STAND UP!" 95 times out of 100, your subject will stand up. External Auditory Command is a powerful motivator. This is why ancient scriptures called the transformational force of God, "the Word" or "the Sound."

All of us have numerous small voices inside of us. These voices are responsible for all the reasons and laziness why we should NOT achieve our full potential. When we have to get out of bed, when we have to workout, when we have to stop overeating, or stop watching TV or Internet, these little voices do NOT allow us. The reasons can range from body-aches to bad relationships. We all have reasons why we can't achieve our full potential. Use your voice, externally and loudly, to get over these 1000 small inner voices.

It is very simple to get over your procrastination. Try this. Make a list of things you MUST do without procrastination. My initial list had: “Wake up at 6.30. Exercise for 15 minutes.” To start with keep your list small, around 2 or 3 items. When your alarm rings, just say aloud "WAKE UP NOW." Your ears will listen to the vocal message which now acts as an outside command. The brain, being responsive to commands, is jolted to act. Now, DO NOT RESIST. Get up and make your bed, or do something active right away. Fix a time for workouts. When it is time, just say aloud "DO IT, NOW.” And start working out. If you have to meditate, command yourself "MEDITATE NOW". Then sit down, minimize distractions, and meditate.

It’s that simple. Try it. Let me know how it goes. If your friends or partners are annoyed, believe me they will be less annoyed when you transform to your best version.
We can start transformation only by action. Just DO IT NOW. All mental strategies have no meaning until YOU ACT UPON IT. It is time we bridge this gap.

So that "we behold HIS glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father" - our greatest
potential.
